Wendla happenings!

Happy Halloween to everyone!! I love Halloween because its the start of the holiday season which is my favorite thing in the whole world. You start seeing lots of colorful leaves, smelling cinnamon and home cooking, and hearing the carols! I just watched some of Halloweentown and of course, like every year, It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! If only I had Hocus Pocus! Halloween should be fun this year but we are actually having our Spring Awakening Halloween bash tomorrow since we have the day off Monday. With two shows tomorrow, we can't stay up too late tonight, but tomorrow, the costumes and candy come out! I am dressing up as Dora the Explorer! My costume is almost complete! The last thing I need is yellow socks which I think I am borrowing from Taylor! I will definitely post a picture next week! What are you all being??

I am so happy to be back on the west coast finally! It makes me feel like home to see all the palm trees everywhere and to not have to wear a warm coat. The past few weeks have been super fun. Austin was a really nice time. It was very nostalgic to be on a college campus again, and the audiences we had there were amazing! We had a big understudy put-in day in Austin where i got to see Justin, David, and Kayla perform for the first time and they were unbelievable!! I also got the chance to rehearse Wendla with Matt as Melchior for the first time which was so much fun!

Speaking of Wendla, I have some exciting news! I will get to play Wendla next week in Sacramento on Thursday November 5 for both the matinee and evening show. I am so thankful that I get another opporunity to play Wendla because the last time I only went on once, so I was still getting the kinks out. I cannot wait to play the part again :) So if you are in the Sacramento area, you should come out! I'll make sure to take lots of pictures this time and actually post them haha.

I will leave you with this excerpt from Great Pumpkin! Happy Halloween!!!

Craziness!!

Oh man this week has flown by and been super crazy busy! Sorry for the lack of updating, but I'm still catching up with the fact that Milwaukee is already over and am now chilling out in good ol' Kansas City!

Last week was just the greatest. I truly missed being on tour and performing this show! But it was intense, that's for sure. We went non-stop from last Friday till now with a bunch of rehearsals, press, and shows and it's been a whirlwind. Milwaukee was a great stop though and a wonderful start for the tour. We all had such a lovely time together as a cast along with welcoming our two newest members, Justin my swing partner and Pinkie our new viola-ist with lots of after-show meals, a fun girls night, and a white t-shirt party to finish off Milwauks which is a party we will all never forget. I love being back with my second family. It feels so safe and right, and as I tweeted earlier in the week, it is the strangest feeling arriving at a hotel room thinking, "home sweet home" (I think I have been on tour for too long haha) My favorite part about Milwaukee was definitely...the cheese. For those of you who don't know, I LOVE cheese. I could eat it for every meal. Seriously. And in any form. It is just the best thing ever, so only naturally would I love Milwaukee! We went to this incredible cheese place right by the theatre that literally had the best cheese curds I have ever eaten. I'm sad that cheese curds only exist in some places in the US. The only other stop so far on tour that I have run into them was in Seattle. Hm. Anywho, if you haven't tried cheese curds and are a cheese lover, take my advice. Find a cheese curd and eat it. :)
